I think it's Melvin for me. I agree with Skobud's post about that gospel, churchy thing that he brought to the band. "That Lucky Old Sun" from the official live double CD comes particularly to mind; his long, swirling, climactic solo is just wonderful. The Dylan songs (e.g. "Simple Twist Of Fate", same album) also feature good solos that always seem to complement Jerry really well.

I also love the Merl Keystone recordings, though, and the "Blues From The Rainforest" CD that Merl and Jerry did together.

The JGB with Keith was also pretty special; let's not forget him.
